Downtown Crossing Historic

Our Principal was the project architect and manager for the repositioning of 1 Milk Street in Boston’s burgeoning Downtown Crossing. A Manhattan developer’s first foray into the Boston market was to be a simple renewal of a classic structure for a quick lease-up to a prominent tenant on the ground floor. Scratching the surface led to the discovery of neglect at every area of the building. Gensler led a complete systems overhaul, created a new tenant lobby, installed elevators, and renewed and restored the facade, breathing life back into this prominent corner.

Tenants now include a concierge dental practice; co-working space, Shake Shack (another NYC import!) and a local Greek eatery
